Meet the characters
Jack Hathaway
Jack Hathaway was a decently normal kid, but as his family moved from place to place, he got more and more jaded. Eventually he was able to set roots to complete high-school while his parents traveled often for work.
Putting on a facsimile of a normal kid, he crept trough the halls day to day, got into fights, and played video games. This all changes one day when the world ignites with the news of a major information leak in the government by one Maj. Davis of the US Air Force. Originally ignoring it, the next day Jack finds all info about the subject completely scrubbed clean. The news isn’t mentioning it, social media only calls it the “hoax”, according to official government communications on the subject.
Jack, blown away by how sudden everyone seems to have just forgotten, teams up with an acquaintance, Naomi Rose, and her family to spread the word and form a movement to learn more. But after this movement, based in Bethlehem, PA, is violently shut down, Jack sinks back into the mundane habits that subsisted him in school. Can he step back up and fight? Naomi seems to think so, and the two have to rebuild from scratch.
Naomi Rose
Naomi Rose was the definition of a wallflower, a punk. Her eccentric parents and rugged individuality created a schism between her and her classmates. Naomi, surprised to get a text from her freshman science partner Jack Hathaway after over a year of no words between them, immediately hits it back off with him, bonding over their shared interest in recent political events no one else seems to care about.
Inviting him into her family home to help sift through the mountains of leaked encrypted and redacted files her father, a IT specialist, managed to get a hold of before they were scrubbed from the internet. She helps disperse the information they find and becomes a pivotal member of the rebellion as it grows. After losing her family and the Jack that she came to know, during the massacre at Bethlehem Park, she sets out into the world.
Multitasking during her travels, both running from her past and doggedly trying to keep their movement alive. She finds herself on Jack Hathaway’s couch after 7 years, finally able to convince him that they need to act, the pair travel to the Rockies to an abandoned military base in the mountains. Will what they find there change the course of this silent war? Can the two manage without he guidance of those they lost? All they can do is try their hardest.
Lawrence and Dani Hathaway
Lawrence and Dani Hathaway are the parents of one Jack Hathaway. They moved with their son frequently for work as he grew up, but as he entered high school, Dani convinced a normally uncompromising Lawrence to allow Jack to have some consistency in school, so they left him a house and visited when they could. Unknown to Jack, his parents were heading the research and development of powerful mechanical suits standing at 50 feet tall called Armors.
The first Armors were used in a terrifying war 400 years prior, that almost left the world in ruin. Now Lawrence and Dani are building more for the United Republic of Terra, the governmental force behind keeping the world in a state from before the advent of the war.
Their work and its secrecy has driven their son away from them, and upon the massacre at Bethlehem Park, they assume their son dead. Each mourns differently, with Lawrence throwing himself into his work and disconnecting himself from his emotions, to the dismay of his wife. Will their positions put them head to head with Jack and his newfound Armor? Can they come to accept their son is alive after 7 years? They might not even get the chance to meet him.
